Evening all. I have a raised bed that needs replacing as the wasps managed to bore into the wood and its now falling to pieces. This replacement is to match other raised beds in the garden. They are constructed from fence posts 95mm x 95mm. These posts were supplied treated in brown when they were first fitted about 9 years ago. I have been looking for these online but cannot see anywhere that supplies 95x95mm posts in brown. they all appear to be green.
Any ideas?

Thanks

Thanks Andy. I might be picky but I was looking for 95x95 to match what I have and to fit in the same area

Hi all. At ease! Spoke with the original builder and he has pointed me in the direction of the local sawmill he uses.

Timber that looks green has often been treated with a preservative, and the colour is to identify it so you know it has been treated, and can recognise any untreated cuts. Once if has dried, you can treat it with whatever colour coating you like.

I still use green preservative for that reason.

I formerly used Cuprinol Green preservative which contained copper-based green chemicals, but I think it is not used now due to long-term toxicity.
