Hey guys,

We're looking at getting a couple of rads pretty soon and wondering what are good to get and what to avoid.

We can't go top of the range but certainly don't want to buy cheap and nasty.

I don't want to get mail order.

Cheers

If you have a MR Central heating near you I would recommend them, their prices for rads are great

Go to local plumb centre and buy a centrerad you will pay the same as trade do for it

!0% off an initially inflated price doesnt make a bargain i can get 45% off stelrad rads but it just takes them to a price they actually want to sell them at

Yea thanks for that. 10% is obviously better than nothing. Unless you're able to share your 45% discount?!

I have a set of rads from ultimate heating that came with my Vaillant boiler pack. They are cheaper for one reason
Kudos are the brand sold at Screwfix, if Screwfix prices arnt cheaper than wickes, discount or not I'll be surprised
I'm told the own brand rads at Plumbcentre are rebranded mysons, don't know if its true but I have fitted a and handled all 3 types in the last month
The Plumbcentre rads are easily far better than the other 2 makes

Screech you miss my point because something says its 10 or 45% discounted doesnt make it any cheaper than something that is fixed at a standard price without the pretend mark downs

Yes, but, your 45% 'discount'(as they call it but they still make plenty on it) is better than my nothing..... I'd just walk in there and they'll charge me their 'stupidly marked up price'

fek me its like pulling teeth, the rads or whatever are never really 45% dearer they pretend so people like yourself think they are getting a bargain rather than buying a rad that has 0% off

Both rads are of equal quality but charged at different prices.

45% off £100 =£65
10% off £72 = £64.80

The percentage discount is actually the stores mark up, not really a discount.
So basically the discount is irrelevant ;)

Some outlets work to a manufacturer's price list, discounted.
Some make up their own (inflated) price list, discounted.
Some work to netted down (already discounted) prices, but may offer small additional discounts.

£100 minus 45% is £55
