Which blocks?

Simple question, got someone coming round to block up an external door, outside is rendered so will be using blocks. He said it didn't matter too much what to get, just 'the cheapest'. He mentioned thermolites.

So, should I go for aerated or medium density? Both under a quid a block from Wickes.
