I’m in the process of beefing up the security on my house. I have a texecom premier elite w with multiple wireless devices.

We have a velux window on a sloping roof which in my option is a security risk. Do i attach a wireless window contact, or a vibration contact or neither and just have a PIR in the room with the velux?

On what panel?

Hard wired or wireless?

How big a risk do you think it is?.

Does the pir have issues with direct sunlight on sunny days??

Its a Texecom premier elite 64-w. I have mostly wirless devices on the panel so i would be going for wireless again. As for risk, the velux is reachable via a flat roof and accessible.
A PIR would not be affected by direct sunlight as the velux is on a tilt and north facing.

Personally a PIR is normally adequate.

However you may want to ensure the velux window is closed so a micro contact if anything.

A vibration sensor would help if anyone is trying to force entry via the velux window or breaking the glass, this would give you some notice of an attempt to break in and the PIR would confirm it.

Necessary probably not, but without a site visit and doing a risk assessment I can only generalise on options.
