Hi, I need to drain down my CH but have found 2 drain points. 1 is on the hall radiator and the other on top of the boiler in the kitchen.

I read I should use the lowest one which is in the hall, but I can't get it open with a radiator bleed key. Is there a specific tool I need or could I drain it from the one on top o the boiler?

Many thanks if you can help with this.

The drain cock on the boiler will drain all above it only.
The drain valve on the rad would be better. Some have a screw on top ,others a square ended shaft on top ,or beneath . Pics not clear enough to tell what type yours is. A mirror below ,and a torch should aid you to see.

Looks like a rad key type to me, try soaking some lubricant spray on it, use the rad key and gently tap with a hammer and it may turn (anti clockwise).

Thanks guys I took some close ups, looks a bit rounded. I'll put try some wd40 and hammer time!

Yes its a square head on the top. Is there a build up of crud around the square ,preventing the key from going down further ?
