Hi

I need to paint my living room urgently as a tidy up. I am nowhere near decided on a permanent colour yet as I have furnishings to be chosen.

In February/March, I will want to redo the room as I will know all my colours by then. I will also want to use a good quality paint on the walls and woodwork - something that can be wiped clean. I have used an eggshell before on woodwork (it was beautiful) but don't know if that can be used on walls?

So, my question for now is, what type of paint I should use on my walls for now? I don't want the paint I use now to restrict using a good quality paint later. Hope this makes sense :-(

I think I'm sorted - have had a good google. Will use emulsion for now on the walls and later (feb/march) oil based eggshell on the walls.

If you want a scrubbable final paint on the walls consider Albany Durable matt emulsion ( From Brewers) . I'm using it at the moment, with a brush (5 inch) and I'm well impressed. It will roll fine, just a small area so I brush. It will go over a basic emulsion . Then use the oil eggshell on the wood.;)
