Our front door handle wasn’t pulling the plunger in so I opened it and a sheared off bit of metal fell out.

I’ve googled and search on here but still not sure what replacement to buy.

Here are a few pictures, i’d appreciate any advice because I see there are 35 and 45mm version available. Thanks

I think I just dissed the 35/45mm thing. My local iron mongers have them listed on e-bay:

35/45mm is the backset.
There are hundreds if not thousands of different gearboxes of different sizes.

Ideally you want to take the whole locking strip and looks for any codes printed on it. If not you have to do it purely from measurements.
Mm perfect measurements! 1mm out and it probably wont work

Ok, thanks. It’s got a porch on the outside of it so taking it out shouldn’t be a problem.

I managed to get a replacement after taking it down to a place called Abbey Ironmongery.

It was a nice simple job, thanks for the advice :)
