Just got afew small patches of plastering repairs to do onto bare brick, was going to do the backing with sand and cement, do i use building sand and what would be the best ratio to use and do i need to add any additives ?. Thanks
Use 4 plastering sand to 1 cement with plasticiser added. If it's just small patches, wet the brickwork and bring out the patch thickness by 2/3rd's, scratch it, then leave it to set. The next day, using 5 to 1, bring the patch out flush, rub it over with a float when ready, maybe sponge it, then leave it to set cure. For best results, get a plasterer in. [/img]
