I have a cold water tank in the loft, a hot water tank on the first floor and the bathroom at ground level. I do not have a combi boiler. bathroom is fed by mains cold and hot by tank upstairs. Can anyone tell me what kind of shower i should have ? the pressure seems fine. Would I be able to have a thermostatic mixer bar ? would appreciate any response

Simple answer is no you won't.

Any thermostatic shower needs balanced h & c supplies.

i.e the cold must come from a dedicated feed off the cold storage tank that supplies the hot water cylinder.

You may find you need a shower pump to give a decent pressure.
