The dishwasher fills then after a short time the cancel light flashes 6 times and the water is pumped out before any wash/rinse cycle starts.

The cancel light continues to flash 6 times at regular intervals. This happens on all cycles including cold water rinse.

I have tried resetting - switching off at the mains overnight pressing reset button etc several times. Cleaned the main filter, removed the CW and outlet hoses to check for blockages. Removed switch and PCB no apparent signs of failed components on the board.

Removed bottom panel to look for any other filters but really didn't know what I was looking for. Also seen reference to water level sensor but, again don't know what I'm looking for or where it is located. Machine is only used about once a week.

Any help and advice much appreciated

Thanks

Mike

Have you checked the inlet valve is not blocked, the hose normally has a filter check that for debris. I suggest you also check the isolation valve is working correctly. You have not had a change in water pressure to the property also has the either the internal or external stop taps been open and closed recently?
Also worth checking both supply and drain hoses for blockages and kinks.

Firstly thanks for getting back to me.

I took the inlet hose off and can blow through it and meshes seem clean. Not sure where the inlet valve is as no diagrams. No change in water pressure (excellent)and stop taps not been touched. No blocks or kinks. I can hear that water is coming in and being emptied. (checked outlet at grid)

The isolation valve is connected to the inlet hose at the cold water supply, normally with blue handle. Worth checking this operating correctly and fully open, with no blockages.

Error code
F6. 6 Flashes. Cold Water Valve Closed. Water inlet hose blocked, Water valve is switched on but flow meter senses no impulses and the water indicator is at a low level, Water inlet valve defective or Flow meter defective

Water valve is switched on. Is there any way of testing flow meter and the water indicator? I would think flow meter is attached to incoming water supply somewhere, and where is water indicator? I can't find any diagrams on Google.

Thanks for your patience,

Mike

In addition, flow valve appears to be working as dishwasher begins to fill and stops when door is opened. continues to fill when door closed and start button pressed.

Thanks for the link. I am, at the moment, trying to get the side off to access the flow meter and tank. That's proving to be a job in itself as all the torx are out but top of side panel seems firmly in place. I have read the post and will have to check it carefully to follow it. The pump seems to work as water comes in, fills the bottom of the dishwasher, then it pauses and the water is pumped out. So maybe thinking it is the motor. It works apart from the wash/heat cycle. Will need to go out soon but will update when I can.

Many thanks

Mike

I cannot get the side panel off!! All 5 screws front and two at back out but won't budge out of top. Can't work out what secures the top. It's an under counter Whirlpool not integrated. About ready to reach for a tin opener!

Thanks
Mike

Update. To remove top - two plastic fittings at back - slide top of them inwards and pull out. Top then slides forward and lifts up allowing access to two more side panel screws.
