Hi we have had this a number of years, it still cleans the dishes fine, however I have just swithched it off, it has run for 3 hours and has still not drained.
If you switch it off, wait a few minutes and then start the cycle again (or a different one) the first thing it should do is drain any existing water. If it doesn't do this it's either the a sensor or (probably) a faulty pump.
I'm no expert but had problems with my Ariston dish washer also.
Post the service number on the door sticker, it should be something close to this 8511 754 15811. To reset the machine press & hold the start button for min 3 seconds. Usually when a dishwasher washes "into infinity" it is caused by a heater problem...the pcb doesn't get a message that the water is hot so it just keeps washing in a never ending circle. Faults on this model are also usually accompanied by a repeating series of flashes on the start LED. Do you know if the water actually gets hot?
Try this to see if it throws up an error code (a repeating sequence of flashes on the start LED, or direct display...if you have one).
Turn the machine off. Select the 1st program (usually rinse). Press & hold the start button. Turn the machine on while still holding in the start button. Release the start button when the start LED flashes. Activate the test program by pressing the start button once. Post any error indication.
