It means there is an internal leak & the flood protection device has been activated. Lean the DW forward to drain the water off the baseplate (have some old towels ready). Once the water has ran out you should be able to restart the machine, however this still leaves you with a leak to track down. Most likely the wash motor seals are leaking.
