Hi folks, I've had a search around for a solution to this problem but haven't, as yet, found anything.
My dishwasher, Whirlpool ADP 4501/5, will not start. When I hit the start button it will begin the cycle but then after a few seconds the start light will go out for a moment. The machine will then sound like it is firing a pump for a second and then dying. This then repeats with the light coming on in time with the pump.
I've looked but all the other reported problems involve an error code flashing but that doesn't seem to be the case here.
We've checked the filter and it seems clear enough though there is a couple of inches of water in the filter.
The salt container is also currently full of water, not sure if that makes a difference or not.
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer. The dishwasher belongs to my landlord so I'm hoping it is something simple that I can fix myself.
