we've got the same dishwasher and it seems to do this also.
I can't hear it striking the pipe when it's running, so I assume that the water pressure pushes the arm up slightly making it miss the pipe.
Don't suppose yours leaks does it?
Thats my problem at the moment, and haven't got to the bottom of it yet.
