Hello, I've had the problem mentioned above for a little while now.
basically the dishwasher runs fine on a cold rinse cycle. however when I put it on anything that requires heat it fails by beeping and the light flashing in a pattern of 3 flashes. When I run a 30 minute wash cycle the water is still completely cold after 15 minutes.

I've been looking into it to try and avoid the expense of a new unit.
When I first started looking I was advised to replace the NTC as these often fail on the machine apparently, alas this didn't fix it.
I have since then performed the following.
o- checked the resistance across of the heater to prove it is still functional. There is resistance and so this would seem to indicate it is fine.
o- checked the restsiance changes on the NTC according to the temperature of the water. It reduces as hot water is poured in to the machine. checked that the cables from the heater to the PCB is fine for the heater.
o- inspected the PCB for any signs of dmamge or dry joints, none found.

from what I can see at //www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=139022 it suggests the PCB but at £100 I was wondering if anyone actually replaces it or do people then decide to get a new unit. I've had the washer for 6 years so pleased with that but could really do with avoiding the spend of hundreds on a new one. Of course I could continue to wash by hand but It's making my skin all soft and stuff ;)

Anyone's thoughts and experience on this would be much appreciated. Does anyone have an old PCB from a machine I could try?

Thanks for reading

cheers

I have found the heater relay to be faulty on a couple of these (you will get 240 supply to the element but no return as the relay switches the neutral)

sometimes it has been the relay stuck others its the switch that operates the relay

leccy758, thanks so much for the reply, that's so useful to hear. Sorry for being a bit dense but are there any tests for this? also Can I replace just the relay? I have a friend who is very much more aware with electrics than me so could help me :)
Thanks for anything you can add.
Cheers
