Whirpool DWF B10 (W) from Ikea

Dishwasher starts and then stops after a few seconds / minutes. The on light flashes 6 times. There is no problems solving information with the dishwasher. Whirpoll preferring to charge for a fitter to have a look at it. Have had problems before relating to the waste pipe the installation instructions indicate that the waste pipe must rise and not be level - difficult when the waste pipe comes out the rear of the dishwasher with no room ((few mm) to start to lift the pipe up. Originally whe nt he washer was installed the same problem occured so the installers put the waste pipe straight out through the outside wall and up into a piece of 50mm pipe. Not very good but it worked, until the pipe started cracking because of the uv fro mthe sun. Since then have sorted the pipe chopped out the split piecesa nd jointed in a new pipe. This pipe has been fed up through the Ikea kitchen units and into the internal waste pipes. Everything worked fine for the last 6 months or so.

Any ideas what 6 or 7 flashes of the on light means??

How many times does the start LED flash....6 or 7 times??? Because they mean two different things.
An F6 error could be something as simple as a kinked/blocked fill hose, the tap is closed, or your inlet valve is history.
F7 is a flow-meter issue.

Zipper - Thanks, it appears to be 7 flashes of the light, I assume that I need some one out to fix it??

Not necessarily. F7 often boils down to a bad connection on the flow-meter.
With the power off remove the left hand side panel & look at the water jacket for a small card with an electrical plug connection on it in it. Take off the plug & refit it again making sure it is tight. Then try the machine again.
