Hi,

I'm going to buy some white matt emulsion for newly plastered full house, can anyone recommend a good quality paint that will not require coat after coat.

Many Thanks

Crown emulsion is fine. Water it down 50/50 for the first coat, and then two further unthinned coats should be fine.

For the colourd paints you're certainly right, but B&Q do good deals on the 10ltre tubs of white

True, think B&Q are £24 for a 10Ltr dulux white or £42 for Dulux trade white, bought some this week as it was closest place to go, problem with living in the sticks :D

The Crown white emulsion is currently £10 for 10 litres, but it was down at 2 for£20 a few weeks ago.

B&Q have now stopped selling Crown and are getting rid of there last bit of stock. They still do the Leyland contract matt which is ideal for ceilings and a first mist coat on new plaster. Walls would then need to be coated up in a vinyl matt to make them a bit more serviceable.
