Are white jg speedfit fittings suitable for domestic hot water from a combi where the temperature is not likely to get much above 60 deg C (ok maybe a little higher for a short time as the boiler modulates)? It's just that I remeber seeing gray fittings but not white.

The grey fittings that you saw were probably Hep2O or osma gold fitings. The white speedfit fittings are suitable for use with heating systems and hot and cold water.
