I have found white mould on my rafters which rubs off easily. I've vacuumed it off. See photos.

The house is victorian and ive never had problems before.

My cold water tank was getting hot water in it but that problem has been fixed by a plumber but i had left the lid off the cold water tank for 4 or 5 days before it was fixed. I think that is what caused the mould.

There is no ventillation in the loft and as far as i can see other houses up my street dont have soffit vents or tile vents so am i right that i don't need to change anything?

Some one suggested putting bleach on the rafters - is that a good idea?

Hi. I would get a roofer to have a look if it does not clear up after the bleach. There is obviously a moisture source for mould to be growing. so could be the lack of ventilation as you mentioned or the tank, but on the otherhand a leak, or the bitumen felt maybe condensating.
