The Crown Prosecution Service and the Metropolitan police said today, that it was "highly unlikely" that any MP would be charged over the expenses scandal. The first whiff of whitewash????

Roughcaster.

Making an inadvertent accounting error isn't fraud. It would never get to court.

Tony Blair, was never taken to task, in my opinion he should have been tried as a war criminal, along with G W Bush.
What the snout in the trough mp's have done, bears no comparison.

To get a conviction for fraud you have to prove 'intent' to commit fraud. All they have to do is say 'Oh I forgot to cancel it' and they get away with it. What excuse did they come up with?

What about the MP who claimed for mortgage that didn't exist, how do you make an "accounting error" like that.

And what about Glasgow Labour MP Jim Devine, who put in a claim for 66 metres of shelving in his office, at a cost to the taxpayer of £2326.00, but when investigated, there was no sign of the shelving. He also put in a claim for some electrical work carried out at his London home/flat for £2157.00, but the invoice Devine was given, had an invalid VAT number, and a bogus postcode and address. He also bought that flat from a fellow Labour MP, Michael Connarty, including furnishings that Connarty had already claimed for. Devine then reclaimed the cost of "that" furniture under the additional cost allowance. Huh.

What goes around...they'll get fu<ked over in turn at some point

He forgot to cancel it. That isn't fraud in the eyes of the law.
