Hi,

I was originally told by British gas that they could insure my pulsacoil 2000 which is an electric boiler as long as it had a water heater associated with it, but have now been told by them that they don't insure any electric boilers.

I've spoken to Gledhill and they said it would cost me £120 per year to cover all parts and labour which sounded good but then they said that the only thing they don't cover is if there is a problem with the main cylinder in the boiler and if it leaks or anything the whole thing would have to be replaced. Which would cost £1500 but they would do it for me for £1100.

Can anyone please help me, I've tried calling so many companies but they don't insure electric boilers!

Thank you to anyone that can help me with this problem, I just really want some insurance.

why are you so desperate to get cover? Put £120 a year into a savings account, then when you have a problem get a decent local chap in to fix it. A service contract on an electric thermal store is a waste of money imo, even if it is a gledhill!

Seconded. Insurance cover is only based on what might happen.

Most insurances will class a cylinder leak as 'beyond economic repair' - in other words, you'd be up the creek anyway.
