I was under the distinct impression we had left Europe.
So, who the hell do this group think they are by telling this government to scrap the Triple-Lock Pension agreement to help pay for 'green' initiatives?
We are already amongst the lowest paid pensioners in Europe and have often been the ones who work the longest hours to the higher age!

Which protests are you referring to?
The recent protests (several months ago) by students joining the Pension Age reforms were more about the government legislative changes to push the policy through, with more control over protests, than anything else.
Otherwise they were unconcerned with the Pension Age reform per se.

That table is as much about the relative cost of living (relative to pensioners) as it is about the true pension amounts.
So if the cost of living is low (for pensioners), the true pension amounts might push them well up the table. And some countries have addiitonal benefits for pensioners, e;g; free public transport travel, discounts, etc.

Also, for some countries the additional pensions are included (Motorbiking mentioned the Pension Supplemantaire for France), whereas the additional pensions are excluded for UK.

There weren't riots as such but a go slow. Getting a taxi from the airport was fun with the bus drivers blocking the taxis in.

They have a fantastic defined benefits scheme.
