whoops, ground anchor problem. .

ok, so I drilled holes for my ground anchor, used 12mm bit (because I had 8, 12, 14 and 12 was the nearest..

But the holes are too large (knew that would happen !!).

There's a tool station just down the road.

Dont know if the cheapest solution is to -

1) buy some 12mm ''expanding bolts''' (? is that the term) and hope they fit my existing holes and hopefully through the anchor's bolt holes.

2) get some kind of chemical bond and just shove the bolts in with bond and let them set. (what kind though?)

3) something else ?


I like idea 2 best, but want to get something from the shop that will be super-super strong. After all it's a ground anchor.

Option 2 is most practical; two-part resin-fixing systems.

New expanding bolts which fit whatever size hole you've drilled will cost less than the resin, are guaranteed to work (not pull out because the resin didn't grip), and yet can be removed later if desired (unlike if you resin it, and it does work).

cement grout will get a good grip of those and cheap as chips

Redrill the hole deeper down and use longer bolts, if the concrete is thick enough. Then grout around the larger bit.

Well you can measure the holes, and if they would take 12mm expending bolts, or could be opened out to suit, happy days.

Failing that, and ignoring the fact you did a stupid thing in the first place, you could buy a 10mm (presumably) drill bit for about £3 and drill and next set of holes next to the incorrect ones!
