...and can I stop it?

I live in an early 1970s mid-terrace. I don't share a chimney or a loft with my neighbours (each house has a separate roof) but when they smoke weed I can smell it in my house. In fact I've had visitors come in and say 'I didn't know you smoked weed'. I don't like the smell at all, so if I could stop it then that would be great. Does anyone have any idea how it might be getting in?

Is it a wooden subfloor, with floorboards that have gaps between? If so then it may be coming through their floor, via gaps beneath the party wall and up into yours. Even if both sides are carpeted.

But ultimately you may be fighting a losing battle. Do you rent or own it? Honestly I'd be having more fundamental ideas about living elsewhere. It's not just a bad smell, it's a mind-altering drug with many side-effects. I saw friends get turned into complete idiots by the stuff. So it will be affecting your mind, and also indicates that your neighbours are likely to have other issues too.

If you haven't complained to them or the authorities then you don't need to declare it as a seller. You'll just need to invest in a few plug-in air fresheners for viewings.
