why can`t i have cavity wall insulation?

hi all

my property is a 1935 semi detached house all bricks are length ways indicating a cavity, i had a company come and do a survey, and they said i didn`t have a cavity i had a air gap.

a gaps a gap isn`t it that gets filled up to insulate the property, i don`t see why it can`t be filled any pointers?

Measure the distance between the inside and outside at your front door but remember to deduct the plaster etc. That should tell you what sort of gap you have between the leaves.
