Why cross bond a hot water cylinder?

No. Just special locations. In a domestic install, this is bathrooms and shower rooms only.

It is not a requirement to cross bond the hot cylinder, but does no harm to bond it to the earth, since you are having water and electricity against one another, it may be safer somewhat.
