IM trying to paint my skirting and door framesw ith white silk and it keeps peeling and can scrape off, is it because of the type of paint underneath? What can i do?
When you say "Silk" do you mean Emulsion or Satin for wood. It looks like the re is something on the woodwork like a grease or such like. You should be rubbing all woodwork down and degreasing with sugar soap or similar degreaser first.
SO it is silk emulsion for walls and ceilings, i take it this is the problem lol i need to get some for wood, can i just sand this back and paint over the top? Whats the best way to proceed?
Emulsion paint is not for woodwork. You need either a water based satin or gloss paint. It needs to rubbed back to the original finish and degreased first.
