It's called DIYnot because a lot of the people on here are "tradesmen" who think that do it yourselfers are completely incapable of even lifting a paintbrush leave alone do anything constructive.

I have no idea whatsoever why the site has such an odd name, and unfortunately, there are a few professionals on here that have a dismissive view of everyone, not just the DIYers, but they can be more abusive to them, and get away with it.

i dont believe it!!!

never had a question here which was not answered and contained good advice...
there are some areas though i think may be beyond some chaps remit...electrics and from my point of view recently on a bathroom makeover...bloody plumbing!!
