Wrong way round to need a diaphragm, Moss, the little bloke's HW is working but not the heating.
Check the fault finding guide, but my first thoughts would be to check the switches on the end of the diverter valve, and the ch temp sensor.

The fault finder leads me to the pump overrun thermostat. What exactly am I checking for here?
