Hi all,

My house was freezing last winter! so among other things I have lifted my floorboards and put 120mm kingspan polyurethane insulation between the joists.

Some broke during lifting so I finished off 3 areas and have a 4th left. I need to replace the boards with something different so that the room has an even look, but I am not sure whether to go with new boards or get old reclaimed boards (they are just standard pine boards with around 3mm gap). Am I asking for trouble putting new boards down over the joists? I have left a 1-1.5 cm gap between the board and the insulation, but I am worried from what I have read on here that I might have condensation problems if I use new boards as they will not be able to breath sufficiently.

If new boards would a membrane be a good idea?

Could someone in the know please advise?
