Hi Guys and Gals.
I've been getting my spare room ready for a new carpet. Lifted the carpet and noticed a few of the original boards are split so am replacing these with reclaimed boards. I've also noticed in one corner of the room there are 2/3 boards that have a significant gap between the end of the board and the skirting board, it's an old old house 1890 (see photo of gaps). I'm really not sure how to deal with this issue as the end board is about 5 cm under the skirting and i've already had walls plastered and painted and don't want to damage skirting/plaster etc.
Any ideas how to deal with this? would it cause problems with the new carpet and fitter if i left it as is?
All suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Pete
