Hi All,

My boiler installer has just discovered (after 6 months!) that the sparky wired up the boiler incorrectly so there was no permanent live feed

The result was that the boiler only had power when the programmer called for heat - so before it did anything it ran through a 15 min startup routine

So basically the boiler has been following its startup routine 3 times per day for the last 6 months

Doh !

Any views on whether this will have damaged the boiler ? Seems fine

Cheers

Steve

worcester then? 15 minute condensate filling and purge
would not have damaged it on start up . pump over run would have been missing at end of cycle though but if its not making any strange noises then all should be ok there too.
Amazed you never noticed how long it took rads to initially heat up

cheers namsag - yeah I had noticed it took a while to heat the rads - but I put it down to the size of the pipe runs etc.....

And it turns out the rads are not big enough either...

Absolute pain in the ass way of a boiler start up. Far easier ways to fill a condensate trap or better still design it so that boiler would work properly the minute it is turned on.
