Hi,

I'm making some alterations to the plumbing in my house.

The external soil stack is solvent welded.

Is it possible to break the welds to take the pipe apart?

If not, can I cut off one of the socketed ends of the pipe and replace it?

Regards,

Jon

Solvent welded joints will never come apart, your only option is to cut the pipe as required then refit with new pipework and fittings as required.

110mm is a standard size across all the manufacturers so any 110mm fitting will fit the cut end. (Don't forget to chamfer any cut ends regardless of whether you're using solvent weld or ring seal fittings.)
