the plumber i am going to use to add in a motorised valve on my hot water circuit has let me down today and wont be able to come till mid week,

i have began wiring up my honeywell c plan as i was expecting him this afternoon , if i continue to wire it all up including the motorised valve, and just leave the zone valve wired up but not plumbed in, and set to over ride, can i carry on using my HW and CH system, or will the valve have to be plumbed in before i can set the circuit live?

i know that the HW circuit will just heat up as before and i will have no temp control until its plumbed in, but im 90% finished now and i dont really want to change it all back to the way it was before! only to have to re do it all again mid week

I'd leave the connections at the valve free, just in case. He probably wouldn't want to be working with live connections in the vicinity anyway.

lol yeh,

the boiler wont fire without the valve being wired up thats why i cant leave the connection out!

It's only flicking a switch, so should be fine - can't see any overheat problem likely
