i also agree with Chris Grundfose's solution to a common expensive in pipework problem and op's problem is a good one.

i do something similar with two pumps and relays. Effectively what Grundfos have done is fitted a relay with supressors on a prewired board which takes the electronics knowhow element out of the equation.

no it won't be exactly to manufacturers modern day instructions but that is only because manufacturers don't have any geniuses on the staff.
