I had planned to paint/paper the living room this weekend, I knew there were some patches on the wall and had brought some zinsser a couple weeks ago ready for the job but on sanding i'm uncertain if that will solve the issue, particularly the bit to the right of the fireplace? It is a lot more flat than it looks, if I scrape and fill would that do the job or do I need to knock this away, If so would a skim be good enough or would you go deeper, what is the starting type plaster if so, some kind of patching plaster?
The other wall near pipes seems fine for Zinsser, I've never used it before so please correct me if i'm wrong, the beige wall is to be painted and the white one to be papered, I have filled some cracks.
All over the ground floor is that chalkiness in places, why does that happen, I don't think it's damp, though it has been around 8 years since the damp course was done and it was only chemical....
Finally regards zinsser would you patch the bad bits or would you cover the whole wall, thanks for the help
