wilo gold 50 Pump setting advice.

Afternoon all,

I have a wilo gold 50 edition pump, i have a small 2 bedroom house with 5 rads and have been having a few issues with air in my system. I bleed this pump this morning and had no air in the pump but i did notice that the pump speed was on 3 "max" and to me that seems rather high so i have changed it to 2. Just wanted your advice on the speed as my friend told me that if my pump speed is to high it could be a cause of getting air into the system. Thanks regards john

True but only if it is pumping over or something similar.
Set it to a speed where it will heat the radiators.
If 2 works leave it at that. Higher speed means more noise in the central
heating. If it is a combi boiler these need to be on 3 all the time to transfer heat for water delivery.

Its a floor standing boiler in the outbuilding which heats the c/h and hot water tank in the cupboard upstairs. I have had it on number two and it heated the rads correctly to the required heat. My only worry was the pump was rather hot to touch like toching the side of a kettle. In some manner.. This is normal or could it be due to me turning its speed down.

Pumps get hot they have hot water running through them.
The only time they might be faulty is if the radiators are cold yet the pump is very hot. You might want to turn your boiler temperature down. Around
about 70 degrees is fine.
