Hi Everyone

We have just moved into our house and discovered we cannot fully open our windows upstairs. The problem is the windows open a little bit and then get stuck with the Roof Eaves. Instead of changing the whole window is it possible that we can change the locking mechanism so that the window pane opens like a 'top hung' window instead of a 'side hung' window pane.

Obviously the previous people have fitted the wrong type and not factored in the lower eaves

Can we refit that particular Pain with a combination of both so we have a little window at top little top hung and therefore avoids the eaves and the remainder small side hung

Any ideas ?

Thanks in advance guys

You mean its catching on the bottom edge of the fascia board?

If so the window was clearly surveyed wrong, you can replace your side hung hinges for tall top hung hinges but you'll need a shorter locking mech for the bottom, the handle you could re-use but once you managed to do all that you'll have 3 holes where the handle WAS!
