This is a diy forum not a computer forum.
For what its worth, windows xp, should be installed on a clean hard drive. format the drive and start again

edited to add:
if you have NOT formated it then do so, (although xp will try and do that, you should format it first, then try a pc forum, for what its worth i gave up with the "upgrade" and bought the whole thing, worked first time, but it was not cheap)
