Posting this here even though I'm not in the UK, it might get a bigger audience!

I recently installed a BYRON DBY-223548S wireless door bell (CR2032 button battery) with two "chimers", one is mains powered, the other is powered by 3 AA batteries.

I have one installed in the house, it doesn't matter which one, both work fine, I have the other installed in a outhouse ~ 20M from the front door with 5 "walls" betweem them, the battery chimer works fine but the mains power one doesn't work in this outhouse, I have paired them as per the instructions but still no joy. The frequency band is 433MHz with a 150M range.
Is there any eason why both (or none) shouldn't work??.

Does the battery one work in the outhouse or not. Are you saying they both work inside the house but not in the out building. If that is the case then it would suggest that the internal walls are affecting the signal. Perhaps you need some sort of repeater.

Yes, thats the only reason for my post, the battery one works fine in the outhouse but the mains one does not.

Does it work just outside of the house. If it does then it definitely sounds like a range issue of that one and suggests it is faulty ot not as described. So take it back.

Yes, thats the only reason for my post, the battery one works fine in the outhouse but the mains one does not.

Probably, the signal is marginal, at the distance, and the mains one is less radio sensitive/cannot be as well positioned to receive.

The 150m range, is in open air, with no interfering signals. Getting radio signals through walls, is infinitely more difficult.

Yeah, Sensitivity seems to be the name of the game, the mains one will work just outside the window/wall of the outhouse but not inside it, just as well that the battery one works inside it otherwise I'd have to knock a wall down.
