ive just wired a s plan system using existing cylinder.
On the cylinder there is a 3 core coming from the stat which ive wired back to the jb,but also there is a 3c (L,SWL,E) coming from a thermal cut out
device which is also attached to the cylinder.can any of you tell me where this should be connected in jb.

Hold on there pardner....

What sort of system is this. Is it a pressurised (unvented) cylinder like a Megaflo?

If so that over temp stat needs to be wired into your S plan to cut out the boiler if the DHW goes over temp/....

Then the thermal cut out MUST interrupt the boiler if the cylinder goes over temp.

The manual should show this (the Megaflo one does) and you must fit it otherwise the cylinder can explode if it goes over temp and the boiler keeps going.

The way to wire it is to take the wire from the Hot Water on from the programmer, into the thermal cut out, then another wire from the other side of the cut out to the brown wire of the 2 port valve that controls the hot water.

OK??
