i have a faulty shower mixer valve with a reed switch and a new mixer with a micro switch. the reed switch has 2 black wires going to it but the micro switch has 3 connectors - see pic
can i just cut the wires to remove the reed switch and then connect them to the micro switch?
If so which of the 3 pins do i connect to on the micro switch?

its always the furthest away one (one that looks like its on its own) and the outer one for Normaly closed and the inner one for normaly open

as its replacing a reed i would guess its inner one

Check with a multimeter if the reed switch is turned on at the same position of the knob as the microswitch is actuated .

If so connect the wires to the C (common) and NO (Normally Open) terminals of the microswitch.
