im not sure how to wire this switch. ive run a cable from a fused box in my shed to a switch and then a cable to a 60watt light. i will have 2 :o cables at the switch how should i wire it

How do you suddenly get from two cables ("a cable from a fused box in my shed to a switch and then a cable to a 60watt light") to six cables?

i have the cable coming from the light to the switch and a cable coming from the fused box to the switch
hope this makes sense
how would i wire a 2 way switch
is this possible

ty :?

BAN i think he must mean 'wires'.

Join the two earth (bare) wires together once sleeved with green/yellow sleeving either to the earth terminal on the switch box or if it is plastic a terminal block. Join the two neutral wires (black or blue) together in a terminal block and connect the live wires (red or brown) through the switch com and L1 terminals.

many thanks

this is what i though but just wanted to be sure

would this be the same with a two way switch as "our lass" has just informed me she has bought a two way switch instead of a one way

many thanks for the replies :)

But now he wants a 2-way switch... :?

Brewman - how big is this shed? Why do you need 2-way switching?

BAN he said he has bought a two way switch not that he needs two way switching!

With a two way switch you just use the common and one of the L1/L2 terminals. Which one you use will determine which way the switch is up for on/off.

Once again thank you for you advice

Keep up the great work

:D
