my utility room light works.
all other lights downstairs do not.
I was removing the bulbs from my 2 x 3-spot lights in the kitchen when all the downstairs lights went out - except the utility room light- the box did not trip.
I checked the wiring and found one loose wire, put it back in and expected all to be well. But no, none of them work.?????
I have tripped the box by connecting the live to the neutral, so i know there is power there. I have even wired a simple bulb up but even this does not work.
Am I missing something simple??????

red and black (this looks like 2 x blacks, but one has an inch of red casing.
2 x black
black
then separately
3 x red
2 x green and yelo

the single black was loose

The 2-blacks shoud be connected together as these are neutrals.

the black wire with the red casing should be the switchwire (live)

The 3-reds should also be connected together as these are loop feeds and should be in their own seperate connector

The Green / Yellow are the earths

The wires from the light fitting should be connected across the neutral and the switchwire

NB. the fact that the other lights would not work ties in with the loose neutral

i had the black cables mixed up
changed them round and all lights are now working
except the other spot in the kitchen
this is the one with the simple wiring-red, black, green/yelo
