Hi Folks,

Have a problem with hot water on my worcester 240 rsf and have read several forums and reckon that the diaphragm needs replacing in the diverter valve.

Have had a look and reckon it could be done in situe as many have had problems sealing joints afterwards.

has anyone tried this or can anyone tell me if there is a reason it cannot be done in situ?

Thankyou,

Frank

DON'T DO IT

they are a Biatch to get the diaphragm back in straight without damage
I personally always change the valve having had more than my share of
problems changing the rubber

A competent RGI should be able to do that job in a short space of time. But, I would suggest to buy a replacement telescopic connection to the DHW HE as they fail when being tampered with  Keep the pcb housing well covered as well! Any water spurting on there fella and you will have serious problems ;)

Though in essence a fairly simple job, it requires experience with this particular model and dexterity to do it without spending an entire day on it. I would not recommend it as a diy project unless you have loads of time and very little money.

thanks for the input.

I am a qualified technician electrician and have been for 15 years also pretty good at fixing things and plumbing. also have 4 kids and very little money so I think I'll have to give it a go as no hot water is a pain. Thankfully i have an electric shower so not too bad!!

240 rsf is an easy diaphragm change, even a novice should manage that in an hour. as mentioned you will need the slip coupling as it will leak after you disturb it.
