Hi There, Have members had experience of the installtion/ running costs of a wood burning stove that also runs radiators (via water jacket)? I am proposing buying a 3 bed semi that currently uses propane bottled gas to heat the house and appears to be very expensive. The cost of a new oil fired system came out at +£5,000(boiler, new rads plus storage tank in garden) - hence my interst in wood/coal burner in lounge to heat rads too. Thanks, Mark

With wood/solid fuel, you'll not get a stove to centrally heat a full size house successfully, whatever the manufacturers claim. A wood fired boiler will do but requires its own boiler room/garage. That leaves a Trianco TRG solid fuel boiler (still available from TR Engineering) which runs on anthracite grains.
