I need to refurb my roofline which is cast iron gutters with timber fascias and soffits. There's a few sections of the guttering that has failed and will need replacing but where it's been leaking the fascias have rotted.

I don't want to have to remove the guttering in the areas and replace sections of the timber, I just want to fill the rot.

What's the best way to do this? Some sort of epoxy rot filler maybe?

angelboy. good evening.

In normal conditions, opinion is to cut out rot affected timber back to sound wood and replace it.

If you apply rot filler, there is a very, very high probability that the rot will continue to spread along the fascia timbers.

Ken.
