You have a wood fired boiler on a sealed system ....in a country that doen`t allow lead sheet flashings... How near the Channel are you with your "beuombe" to quote inspector Cleaseau

I'd guess there's a pressure relief valve opening and dumping water, or the PRV has opened and hasn't reseated.

The banging a lot is your boiler trying to tell you that it is unwell, it needs a competent technician to service it and it needs you to stop using it until then.

If it dies, it will let you know by exploding, demolishing half of your house and launching itself heavenwards.

PS It's losing 4 bar a day!
What pressure is it operating at?
Put down the log and step away from the boiler.

The Agile service can vist all the customers with any problems with their heating.

Really Tony!!! Do you include travel too central France in your 86 quid diagnostic fee.

Its only £84, not £86, but we do have to add travel and accommodation costs to the diagnostic fees.

But for most of the year I do have accommodation available at Les Pins. I installed a wood stove there last August and a couple of cast iron rads the September before. It now keeps the large living room at over 22°C even if its freezing outside.

There is a scottish guy near there but the French think he is an "Anglais".

I also went to the local village fete but although the band there were very good, I did not dance and instead concentrated on the moules and frites and of course le vin. Although Nicole who was serving us did tempt me to ask her to dance. But I was not too sure about French country dancing.

Check you out,all multilingual.who'd have thought it

I thought outside the big smoke Agile was £94, but he does only like to go where everyone else has failed(probably cos everyone else has already changed all the main/hard bits so he's left with the easy stuff)

Well i have stopped the banging i drained the system and it was full of black crud which is now out. But the rads dont seem to heat the boiler is sitting at a comfortable 85 degrees now.The pumps are working would this be a thermostate problem i used to work with gas.
