My 100 year old red sandstone semi has an infestation of (dead) woodlice on the attic floor, maybe about 100 lying dead up there. I have crawled all over it and can't find damp timbers and there is no leak that I can find. There is sarking felt under some of the slates but not others. Anyone any ideas about where these blighters are coming from. Used to find them all over the house, less so now. Neighbour used to get them big time too.

Cheers

If there are all dead then it might of being an old problem, check for leaks and make sure your loft has cross ventilation.

It is not an old problem as I have monitored it and there is a renewal of the problem. Thing is they are always dead, crisp. I wonder if they are living in the slates and coming through and drying out. I have crawled into the eaves with a torch and found no evidence of damp timbers at all. Really strange.
