Wooden Beams

I have just moved in to my new home and have wonderful wooden beams running through the bottom floor ceiling. Unfortunately they are painted in some sort of really thick matt paint, or plaster!. I want to expose their real colour.

What is the best way of stripping them with out wearing them down too much, or making a complete mess of my living room!!?

If they are rough wood getting all the paint off will be virtually impossible...you could try painting them in a browny colour and experimenting with some colour wood stain over the top though.

if house is empty sand-blast them we do this kind of work ever few weeks comes up brill or do a room at time well worth it.
